Perennials |
There are few things that bring more pleasure than the return of perennials each year. Perennials, as opposed to annuals, bloom year after year (the word “perennial” is the Latin term for “perpetual”). Most perennials disappear during the winter and grow up again in the spring. Trees and shrubs which produce bark are also perennials that can remain green and grow larger every year.

since perennials have a limited blooming period of about 3 to 4 weeks, deadheading, or removal of old blooms, is not as frequently necessary to keep them blooming. However, they do require pruning and maintenance to keep them attractive.
